ABOUT THE PAINTINGS
The main inspiration for Ben's work is the landscape around his home on Hadrian's Wall in the village of Banks in Cumberland. He's inspired by the colours of sun and shade on the fells, the deep reflections and sparkling surfaces of water, the moving clouds and shifting patterns of the northern skies. These he does his best to capture in his paintings, using different media: pastel, acrylic, oil, though his first love is pastel for its unique colour character and soft textures.
